Where do you like to observe the universe from? Do you have a favourite dark sky location?

Ultimately, from within the universe itself. However, given the gravitational and light pollution limitations on our home world, the answer can only be "from the most advantageous locations on Earth".

What kind of equipment, if any, do you use?

Currently, I do not own any equipment as the last time I had anything was a 2" (I think Meade) at the age of 11 or 12 years. However, I am looking for information from the friends I hope to connect with within the group in order to more fully understand through their experience and knowledge what equipment I need in order to begin fulfilling each level of my experience in learning about the universe within which we all live. What I do currently have to offer is reliable transportation to and from sites (including the June 27, 2014) whenever a trip to a Dark Site trip is available.

I was afforded the opportunity to travel coast to coast 4 times by the age of 18 growing up and observing the night sky in numerous locations across Canada. I am an avid science-fiction fan enjoying fact-based documentaries related to the universe.
