Where do you like to observe the universe from? Do you have a favourite dark sky location?

Mostly my backyard looking at the biggies - and I call out, "Hey, you wanna see Saturn?"

What kind of equipment, if any, do you use?

My eyes and my 6" Newtonian that I built from scratch. I ground and figured the mirror, the tube, built the stand (twice!) , created the mount. I used a lot of salvaged materials - before it was even trendy to do so - to create this abomination of manufacturing! But it works! No drive or tracking system as such, more of an alt-az mount. Though I have met John Dobson twice I still haven't converted my 'scope (yet). I would like to learn & experience 'scope photography even at a terrestrial level and move up from there. As a kid I followed all the moon launches, probes Viking, Voyager, Venera, Salyut & Skylab. Now it's Hubble, Chandra, Heavens Above site & ISS.
