The Edmonton Hiking/Walking Meetup Group Message Board › 20C & Ross Creek

20C & Ross Creek

A former member
Environment Canada currently shows Sunday with a high of 20C.  Being Alberta, it could be snowing - but let's have a little faith.

So if you are up for a hike, consider the Ross Creek Hike.  This will be an interesting cross between a hike in the country and then heading a bit into town (Fort Saskatchewan).  Ross Creek is due East of the Fort as it flows out of Trappers Lake and Elk Island.  Crocuses - maybe, could be still a bit early.  Birds - definitely as they use this area as a fly over to points further north.

Make sure you check out the Standard Sunday Gear.  As we will be following the creek, plan for a bit of mud and lots of Sunshine!

Please remember that the Sunday hikes are not very kid-friendly due to the distances and terrain.  Good boots, lunch, water and enthusiasm are required.

Cheers,

If I wasn't going to be in Jasper -- I would go.

Have fun!
