"Harold and Maude"

Yes, another free film at the Stanley Milner Library downtown!

Information about the film is included in the link below. Sounds like a funny one, and I've heard other good things about it.

The show is at 6:30pm, so let's meet at 6:15-ish by the entrance to the theatre, which is in the basement of the library. If anyone wishes to head out afterwards to chat about the movie, we can certainly do that, too. Hope you can join me!

Honestly, I enjoyed the commentary. I'm glad there is the option to se great films without spending a dime and I agre that its better than the light of the iphone any day! I also love reactions to movies when they can be a rare experience for someone. I gotta admit I felt some pure joy watching this film through most of it and that can be a rare experience when you drown in movies like I do!
Absolutely I will continue to come out and hope we can continue to have great discussions like the one that ended prematurely for me on Wednesday night.
A pleasure and thank you all for contributing!

    Grant Stobe...uh, Craig;)

Maybe that's why they threw that detail in Maria? To show that all of life's other worries were comparatively small to her?

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond sooner. This was a great, what, third meetup? First with this group and it was nice to have a good albeit brief conversation about it. This movie really reminded me of Rushmore but with older stars and a slightly bigger age difference. It kind of put me off when the relationship turned serious but its just because its taboo in today's cinema. Otherwise, soo glad I saw this on a bigger screen with a free commentary!

Nice meeting you, Craig. Keep on coming out to the meetups for sure! And yeah, the free commentary was something else. I gotta say, though, that this screening was still quieter than some that I've attended in busy multiplexes, with people talking, texting, etc. during the movie.

    Nice to relive the 70s.

Thanks for letting us know that the film was intended at the time to be a deliberate anti-war statement. Certainly added context!

Really? I'm going to have to reconsider everything about the film now!

Man, this was hilarious! I'm so glad I saw this. What a great film, and great discussion afterwards. Thanks to everyone who braved the cold to come on out.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
