The Edmonton Film Meetup is a venue for film enthusiasts to share a common love for watching films of differing genres.
We have an active discussion board and mailing list so members can share great upcoming screenings you're dying to go to.
This is your space and be a proactive member . Who knows? You might even discover that you have something in common with other members.
Check your communication settings for the group to make sure you'll be receiving our updates and people's responses to your own input.
Do not post spam links to outside web sites or promotional contact info unless you are a sponsor or an organizer. Doing this will get you removed.
We are always looking for members who are wanting to organize events. Hence, anyone of our members can suggest a meetup idea which automatically becomes a meetup. Please make sure your meetup event have a clear date, time, location, meetup instructions and full event info which includes a weblink to the film's website and/or to a film trailer. If you need any assistance, simply contact one of the organizer with your question. If you want to be part of the leadership team, let us know.
If you belong to another meetup whether as a member or organizer, please refrain from posting messages or creating joint meetups. Although there are many meetups with similar members, this does not mean that two or more groups would be a good blend. Please refrain from such activities unless you discuss it first with Rico, the Organizer for this meetup.
There is currently no meetup event fee as we currently have a sponsor paying for the Meetup.com fees of $144/year.
When you RSVP with a YES, please make sure you attend. If you cant make it, you just need to update your response. Or at worst, email the organizer that you can't make it... no reason is needed. However, lack of communication means a No Show. Please be prepared to be removed from the group if you are a No Show even once without an explanation. As long as you are not banned from the group, you can always re-add yourself. Please RSVP YES only if you can truly attend, not because you are wishing to attend. This way, the organizer knows how many members are truly going to attend. NO MAYBES ;) A last minute YES RSVP is better than a last-minute cancellation.
This is your meetup group and so make sure to be an active member by attending meetups. If you have not participated in 6 months in one form or another, you will be removed from the group as we are only interested in having members who wants to be more active vs not.
Thank you for supporting the Edmonton Film Meetup!
