Pembina River Tubing - Coed (AGES 20 - 40)

We have a campsite booked at the Pembina National Park in a couple of weeks and would like to invite some friends to join us for a day of tubing down the river. You can bring your boyfriends and partners as this is a COED event and men tend to be helpful with logistics and handling equipment (also - getting out of the river in the right spot!!!!!!) Average float time is around 3.5h. Please feel free to pack a cooler with some food as we will have a BBQ at our campsite after.

To help make you trip down the river as enjoyable and safe as possible, we have compiled some tips for you:

- water shoes or flip flops are needed to protect your feet from walking to and from the water

- bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat - YES!!!

- bring valuables - NO

- tie your prescription glasses to your face in case you fall into the water

- bring drinking water - YES - to prevent dehydration, we can have a drink after.. but alcohol is prohibited on the river by the authorities

- do not litter and bring only plastic containers

- park in designated areas and secure your keys in waterproof containers (keys don't float and locksmiths are expensive)

- phones don't float either and don't work very well when wet

- you can rent or buy your own tube, either way it will cost you about the same

- we can park our cars in two locations and carpool or take the shuttle ($10)

There is a group meeting at Starbucks on[masked]th Ave. at 8:00am, so you are welcome to join them. We have a volunteer who will be there to ensure our members find each other and understand their driving directions. You can also use the comments space below for carpool arrangements.

The rest of us will be at the tube rental place at 10:00am. You can call or text me at[masked] (the day of the event only please) to find us. For detailed map and location, go here (GPS will take you to the wrong place):

***The organizers are not responsible or liable for any damages to your property or injuries resulting from this trip. We will tie all the tubes together and have to jump off in the right spot to avoid floating down to the ocean..

****Please use the comments section below ONLY if you are in attendance. We do not want to hear why you are cancelling the last minute, it only spams our e-mail inbox. Failure to update your RSVP in time may result in being removed from the group permanently.

*****I will not be responding to any e-mails with questions about information that has been already provided. Be so kind as to read the whole event description before you decide to contact me.

Thank you! :)

Tomorrow there is rain and risk of thunderstorms on the river. They also said that the river is low and you need heavy duty tubes, because floaties pop on the rocks..

This sounds like a great time! Has anyone done this before? Anyone from the Entwhistle area by chance? Recommendations on tube brands and sizes?? Lol

I've done it before and it's a blast! I suggest renting a tube there. It's really rocky and their tubes are built to last through it.

Do we need to bring our own tubes? Or can we rent one?

    July 29, 2014

    • Jess

U can rent for about $20 each or buy tube for same amount.

FYI. I went yesterday July 27th. With another group and the river was extremely low already, had to get out of raft/ tube to pull out from rocks. In previous years it didn't get this low till end of August/ beggining of September. But with the. Lack of rain in the area river is low. Just thought I'd give an update.
