Edmonton Screenwriters Meetup

This Week We'll be conducting a workshop on any writing brought to the meetup. We'll also be conducting another collaborative writing session on the 'Finger Bowl' project. To find out more, look online under the files section of the meetup site, where you can download current works in progress, and the original article.

To actors and directors and others in Filmmaking this meetup is _not_ exclusive to screenwriters, but an opportunity to make your voices heard. Ever received a script only to wonder 'who wrote this?' Together we can be much stronger than simply throwing it over the fence and saying "HERE! Now make it happen"

An amazing time! Newcomer Sonu and his friend Anas came out. They are working on a political documentary - so the challenges of telling a story have to be worked out with the reality of the footage they can obtain.

Some great progress on the Chili Bowl Project. Warren brought out some of his research and that sparked some discussion. Mustafa's draft was rough but provides some good grist for the mill as well.

Output: The protagonist is the insurance adjuster. It needs to be a journey of discovery. Thematically we are trying to work with truth: so truth, ambiguity, lies and self-deception are some areas to touch on. A possible plot progression is to have multiple suspects (chili cook, husband, wife) and have each suspect drop a clue that ends up helping solve the case for the protagonist.

We had a great discussion time, and I think everyone benifited from hearing the ideas of others. I felt inspired again to continue building our project.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
