This is a hilarious show featuring "grown ups" playing the role of kids in a spelling bee. I was lucky enough to go opening night, and my stomach hurt from laughing so much - can't wait to see it again!!! I have both watched and performed with many of the actors in this show, and it is truly a talented cast. If you're lucky (depending on your perspective!) you may be asked to be one of the audience spellers - this really keeps the cast on their toes!
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students. They are available with cash only at the door, or you can buy them in advance at http://www.tixonthesquare.ca. Admission is general admission, so if we line up together we can sit together. The show starts at 7:30 and there is no intermission, it should be done shortly after 9.
Here is the description from the rights holder - "Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser."
Lots of touching moments, but mostly funny, random and heartwarming!
