SOLD OUT: The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant...Ever! at the Varscona

TIX ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT TIX ON THE SQUARE. Those that went last year, know this is a FUUUNNY play, plus the actors do sing a few Christmas songs that sounded great to the ear and really put you in the uber-spirit of Christmas.                                                     The Best Little Newfoundland Xmas Pageant...Ever!

Dec. 21, 2013 - 7:30 p.m.

Presented by Whizgiggling Productions
The Best Newfoundland Christmas Pageant....Ever! seems to be a dull task for Mrs. O’Brien, who has been put in charge when the original leader, Mrs. Armstrong, breaks her leg. What could be so hard? It’s always the same Mary and Joseph and it’s always the same Christmas carols, but no one was expecting the Herdmans to show up for the auditions!!! The Herdmans are “the worst kids in the world” who don’t know anything about Christmas, beyond the hamper they get every year, and have only showed up because they heard there were free refreshments. What has the potential to be the worst Pageant ever, turns out to be the best one as everyone learns the true meaning of Christmas.
Tickets:Available thru Tix on the Square:[masked](or online)  They are open Monday thru Saturday.
Adult - General Admission $23.75 +$1.75 tix fee

Really enjoyed it!! A nice evening. The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant…Ever! could easily come to be a perennial event, much like the Rocky Horror Show.

Lord tunderin Jesus it be cold out t'ere. Don't know if me wants to line up for too long on Sat., as the forecast is for a HIGH of -16, probably -20 when 7 bells comes around. If any regular TGoers(esp. Varscona) think we should be there any earlier than 7:15 to get our seats together, let me know. Thanks a bunch, J.

OR we can do din-din and reserve at 5:30 at The Trap, since New Beg. has a dance at the Crown and Anchor. Post a comment. Majority by Wednesday midnite rules.

Anyone up for an all Newfie night? We can go to The Atlantic Trap and Gill[masked] St)for some Newfie delicacies like cod and chips topped with dressin' and gravy, or a seafood scoff and, if you dare, a shot of Newfie Screech. Had some taters with the dressin' and gravy at Mary Browns last week and I got a hankering for some more. Check out their menu online. We can also dance a jig or 2 with the band Dirty Seas playing. They don't take reservations after 9, so if we go, we take our chances on getting a seat, unless someone has 'connections' there. There's also a $4 cover charge. I suggest lining up for seats by at least 7:10 for the Varscona, as it's GA. Thanks by'e.

Hi! I have a doubt. On Tix on The Square online, it says the play is the 21st December at 2PM. Is that right? I want to be sure before purchasing my ticket. Thanks!

FOUND THIS ON IMBD, I thought this was an actual Newfie play, oh well, it's still very funny:
This is a 1983 made for tv adaptation of Barbara Robinson's novel The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Loretta Swit of M*A*S*H stars as Grace Bradley who inherits the job of running her church's Christmas pageant when the woman who usually does it breaks her leg tripping over the extremely long wire she has on her telephone.
Not only does Grace inherit this disaster it gets worse when the Herdman kids - all six of them. The Herdmans are notorious for abusing each other and stealing from and abusing other kids as well. They smoke, steal, lie, bully and generally create havoc in their town.
Their father disappeared years earlier and mother works two shifts at the shoe factory to support herself and the kids while the kids run wild.
But this WILL be the best Christmas pageant ever when the Herdman kids learn the Christmas story and teach the Sunday school class about the true meaning of Christmas.

Just a suggestion, I wouldn't wait to buy your tix 'til a couple of weeks before the show. The Lindi Ortega show I'm going to on Friday is sold out, and a lady is looking to find an extra tix now.

Purchased my tix already, my DH is from Ramea NFLD and is sure to enjoy it!

Lots of Newfs and Wannabe's I see. Like I said, I hosted last yrs, and it was very funny. Even the non- Newfs, got most of the jokes. If there's some interest, we can have an after-play drink of Newfie Screech at The Atlantic Trap and Gill ( 'bout 5 min away) and maybe dance a jig, or 2.

Ladies, my girl's Mom is from North River- Conception Bay. Lord tunderin', even I've been on The Rock twice. And Buddy Wassisname is droppin' in The Park(Sherwood) in March. Trouble is 'e's chargin' 2 arms and 3 legs for his tix, somethin' like $36. Might have to do a bottle drive to afford his tix, and yes, I saw him twice in St. Albert many moons ago.
