Queen Lear

Art surrounds us while influencing the way we see the world and understand life. The[masked] Shadow Theatre season is a celebration of the beauty, mystery and inspiration provided by Art in all its variety.~ John Hudson, Artistic Director

"An aging theatre actress recruits the assistance of an unruly teenage girl in a last ditch attempt to memorize her lines for an all female production of King Lear. One woman fears the slow erosion of her talents and starts questioning her own value as an artist, while the other struggles with the loss of her mother and a desperate desire for independence. It is a comic and poignant struggle for individual independence and desperate comradeship."

March 12 is a Preview Show. Tickets are $16. Go to Shadow Theatre's website for details: http://www.shadowtheatre.org/index.php/tickets-times.

The music was sometimes too loud to hear the actors. Enjoyed the play & the relationship that developed between the two women.

So sorry to cancelat the last minute but I have been the victimof a drive by puddle shower. The drive byer did an excellent job and had not only water but blobs of mud and bits of gravel all over me as well. I must say the points should definatley go to this person LOL joking aside I will now have to go home and revresh the dress so don't think I will have time to get there. Was looking forward to meeting the group and am excited to join in on other activities!!! Have a great time :)

Evening Lords and Ladies. Please meet in the lobby of the Varscona Theatre at 7 pm. The show starts at 7:30. The doors usually open 15-20 minutes before the show starts. You may text me at[masked]-4585. The Box Office sells tickets starting at 6 pm. Please update your RSVP if your plans change or you cannot make the performance. Please be on the lookout for Queens-in-Waiting to find our group. (Note: I will be wearing office clothes as I'm coming to the show straight from work. I have a black mid-length wool coat and black boots). Cheers!

Greetings, Queen Lear attendees! I have a suggestion - we should all come with crowns for a group photo in the lobby at intermission! Bring whatever type crown you may have, tissue paper ones from Xmas crackers, plastic kid crowns, handmade paper crowns or Dollar Store crowns. I think this would be a hoot! See you Wednesday!! :)
