TheatreGoers Club Sunday Brunch - March 2013

Culina always ranks very high in the reviews. Whether it is Urbanspoon, Yelp or whatever, the reviews are more like a contest to say good things.

Culina describe themselves as: Just barely visible behind the trees of Old Strathcona is Culina Mill Creek, the humble homestead of the Culina Family of restaurants. Conceived as a fine dining experience for the casual budget, this unassuming independent restaurant serves ethnic-inspired comfort food from local sources in an intimate Bohemian atmosphere.

I may have to pay for any no shows or late cancels. The fate of such individuals is too awful to describe. (Description: Listening to a 63 year old man whine about hurt feelings.)

The meal, GST and tip will cost $27.26 (22 * 1.05) * 1.18 plus beverages.

Here is the final menu. I have had everything but the granola and loved it.

CULINA BRUNCH PARTY MENU $22 (plus GST, 18% Tip and beverages.)

Granola, yogourt, saskatoon berry compote, warm honey (12 votes)

Mains

Baked French Toast; berries, whipped goat cheese and maple syrup (18 votes)

Bacon and Eggs; our slow braised bacon with frittata (13 votes)

Sides

Brunch potato (13 votes)

Maple sage sausage (16 votes, 13 for sausage)

I'll bring my group identifier flower just to keep up tradition but we will be half the customers that are there at 10AM.

Sorry guys my right sinuses decided to go crazy last night. Likely just allergies. I wanted to give an early RSVP change. I hope I am OK by Sunday but don't want to take a chance and leave anyone in the lurch.

Thanks to our Newsie and Bare Bones Gokul for organizing this family-style brunch. It's nice to see many new faces joining in on the fun! FYI for our newer members, if you can't make it to the event...ie your plans change....we'd (event hosting teams) appreciate it if you can update your RSVP to 'no'...otherwise, we'll be sitting waiting hungrily for you to arrive for brunch. Looking forward to seeing ya'll on Sunday!

With 20 out of 22 votes in the menu is set. Sorry Leslie and Theresa, you have become the Alberta and B.C. of the voting. (Time zone thing, east votes first.)
I'll change the Menu above to the final selections with the tally for the winners.
Only a few carnivores had mercy on the veg folks (let them eat cake I guess). I spoke to Culina about perking up the veg menu a bit for our brave few.
Just stifled another clever reference so it must be time to say:

Don't forget to change your RSVP if you can't make it!

The waiting list is welcome to vote and lots of time to vote. I'm going to try to increase the number of seats near the end of next week. I'll work out the tally based on who fits. In case you haven't counted Granola is edging out cornbread, French Toast is way out front while Tofu Trails, and Sausage is very much in the lead with Potato and Perogies battling for second.

    Anything can happen!

It is Family Style service. They bring out platters with the food we pick. Avoids everyone being served at different times that we sometimes get with small restaurants and large groups.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
