The Misanthrope

A satirical look at 17th Century French aristocracy - how wonderful!

Keeping Molière’s tradition of biting sarcasm and fast-paced social commentary, this new translation of his masterpiece The Misanthrope thrusts its world of players into current day London. When a playwright with the “unfashionable habit of speaking his mind” becomes enamoured with a self-serving American film star, the results unveil the deception and decadence of the modern High Court.

Sunday Matinee price is $17.75. Tickets are available from Tix on the Square at http://www.tixonthesquare.ca/event/run/detail/560/.

Look for the large Orangey Yellow Flower (the Chrysanthemum
not the Sunflower) near the entrance or in the admission line.

I will be there at 1:30 PM, probably standing in the
admission line so I can save seats.

After the play we will head over to The Accent Lounge for
beverages, snacks and post play analysis.

Hey would anyone like to take a friend to see this play tomorrow (Sun.) afternoon at 2pm? I have a ticket but I can no longer attend the play, so I'd rather not let the ticket go to waste.

Anyone who is unable to attend, please change your RSVP. It is no fun to save seats for no shows.

My route is from Sherwood Park to the Walterdale via Whyte Ave. I know at least two attendees are on my route. If you would rather ride in my little 4X4, send me an e-mail via my profile with your pickup spot. I have room for three.

Thanks everyone for your responses. You are all very prompt ticket buyers! I am going to leave the event on Sunday afternoon December 9. Roy is helping me out of a jam and will be Hosting the event. If you'd be interested in co-hosting, just drop him a note. Sorry to miss this one. I'll have to catch up on the production another day. Enjoy:)

I have purchased a ticket for the 9th already. But if you need to move the event to another date, that's OK.

Hello everyone - please post a reply or send an email to me as to whether or not you've purchased your ticket for December 9. I now have a possible conflict for a one-day only outing and would like to move this event to another day, possibly a week night. However, I do not want to make any changes until I have people's input. Please respond on the site or privately by email to [masked] by Friday November 30. Thanks,
    Victoria

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
