The Best Little Newfoundland Christmas Pageant...Ever! at the Varscona Theatre

I was introduced to Newfie humour by my girls Mom, who happens to be a Newfie. A group called Buddy Wassisname and The Other Fellas just played at Festival Place a couple of months ago. I saw them in the 90's. They still sell out the places they play 20+ yrs later. Next time they come this way, I'll add it to the suggestion box. What I'm trying to say is, Newfie humour is fuuunnny. I think this play is worth checking out. The play runs from Dec. 20-23, so that's why I chose the 22nd.                                                                                              The Best Little Newfoundland Xmas Pageant...Ever!

Dec. 22, 2012 - 7:30 p.m.

Presented by Whizgiggling Productions
The Best Newfoundland Christmas Pageant....Ever! seems to be a dull task for Mrs. O’Brien, who has been put in charge when the original leader, Mrs. Armstrong, breaks her leg. What could be so hard? It’s always the same Mary and Joseph and it’s always the same Christmas carols, but no one was expecting the Herdmans to show up for the auditions!!! The Herdmans are “the worst kids in the world” who don’t know anything about Christmas, beyond the hamper they get every year, and have only showed up because they heard there were free refreshments. What has the potential to be the worst Pageant ever, turns out to be the best one as everyone learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Christine, it means I will have and likely be waving around a large orangey yellow flower in Yiannis and later in the lobby of the Varscona. Look for the big (6' 230 lb) guy with no hair, glasses and a big flower.

To those of you that are still deciding whether or not to attend this play, I just added that we're having a pre-play meal at Yiannis Taverna at 5 PM and there's at least 5 spots open to eat at Yiannis. Please decide by Thursday, Dec. 20, so I can change the reservation amt.. The address to Yiannis is[masked] Ave.

Got your email John. I'm free to go where ever for dinner. Next Act has good burgers but can be crowded on a Saturday. I`m good with Dadeo and Famoso Pizzeria has been good for several past events.
    Please post your pick.

I got my ticket online at http://www.tixonthesquare.ca/event/detail/5811/
It is rush seating so it is a good idea to get there before 7:00 to avoid being scattered all over.

Hey John, do we have to purchase advance tickets for this or is this something that we are able to purchase there. Also I am not going to the dinner part but would like to go to the play

Thanks Diane for pointing out that I forgot to give the info about where you get the tix. They're available for purchase thru Tix on the Square. I'm not quite sure whether you have to pick them up at Sir Winston Churchill Square or at the door. I will call them Monday and post the info above where it says tickets.
