December Social Justice Meetup: Focus on Student Debt

We invite educators & interested citizens to join us this month for a presentation and discussion around the topic of "Student Debt" facilitated by Alice Floros and Lindsay Robinson.

Join us for an interactive workshop around the issue of student loan debt, which has ballooned up to one trillion dollars. How does unaffordable higher education affect teachers and community educators? What power do we have to change it? What are folks in the community doing around this issue right now? Come share your story and get plugged into this important work.

This workshop is a part of our monthly workshop series. We will be meeting the second Saturday of each month this year, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Gya. Please feel free to invite your colleagues to join us!

Immediately following the workshop, we will be having an organizational action meeting that we invite all interested participants to attend as well to help us plan for upcoming events. Minutes from our organizational meetings can be found on our website: www.literacyforsocialjustice.com

I'm going to try really hard to be there. I'm having some dental work done at 8 a.m., so hopefully they get me out of there. I may be late though.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
