Mary Ann Malkoff lived “The Grand Adventure,” living full-time in a RV with two teenagers and a Portuguese Water Dog touring the US and Canada for three years. Husband Mel traveled back and forth from Southern California where he managed the family business. Dave and Edith self-directed their high-school curriculum using internet classes and interests inspired by location, museums and geography.
"It was hard to let go of our Orange County lifestyle, but the dream was compelling. The talk 'Seeing America by RV' is the Malkoff Family saga of how we came to live full-time in an RV. It is an exciting story of having a dream; convincing our families; deciding how to implement it by changing our priorities; selling our home and letting go of our 4,000 s.f. worth of beloved possessions, books and treasures; learning how to step past my fears to drive a 39' RV and tow car; and the experience of our life as a Family on the Road."
This is a unique opportunity to hear from a gutsy roadschooler, and ask her just how she did it all. MaryAnn's son has been diagnosed on the Autism spectrum, so she is a wonderful first-hand resource of self-education for spectrum kids.
