(Math + Science) * (Ed Tech) = An Awesome Future

  • No location was chosen

  • This is an all-call to members to present how math & science will be (or, currently are) being transformed by ed tech. If you are an educator with an idea , research project or stance, or you are an innovator with an app for math or science, contact Janet to let her know you want to present.

Neil Hefferman of Math Assistments will kick off the night to tell us about the impressive results they have with student achievement. Math Assistments reaches over 500,000 K-12 students across the US and has partnered with university research groups to understand the impact of their product. Neil will present the impact they've had to date, but also is looking forward to your questions.

    Local Presenters:

    1. WootMath

Woot Math is an award-winning, ed-tech company that helps middle school students master core math concepts they often struggle with – fractions, ratios, percents, and decimals. The supplemental software delivers a personalized progression of interleaved video instruction and scaffolded problems to mimic the natural give and take between a student and a tutor. Woot Math is designed to engage students with an intuitive and interactive experience supported on iPad, Android, and Web platforms (laptop and desktop).

All, I'm sad to say it, but I haven't found someone to fill Janet's capable planning shoes. I will keep working on this, but I'm afraid that the Ed Tech meetup will need to go on hiatus for a bit.
