Networking & Cover Letters: What am I supposed to write anyway?

Join us for our August networking event at Lir on Monday, August 26 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. This month brings us to everyone's favorite topic: Cover Letters (And yes, you need one!). We will be walking through the cover letter creation process from job description to tailored examples that demonstrate your unique strengths. And just wait until you find out whose cover letter we're writing and what position they're applying for! Hint: He's currently the symbol of a multi-national corporation, but began life working on a steamboat!

As always, we'll be providing plenty of time and a friendly environment for networking, in addition to all the great cover letter advice. Contacts will be made; questions will be answered; drinks will be imbibed! Andrij and I look forward to seeing you all there!

Please let me know if you have any questions at [masked]. Have a great day!

A tool I've found really useful in the job searching process is Signals by HubSpot.

    bit.ly/getsignals

It's a Gmail plugin that tells you when someone opens your email; that way you can tell if they're still considering you or not! Another tool I like is Yesware which is similar, but I like Signals better.

Does anyone know of good parking areas (non permit) in the area?
    Thanks.

Hi Robert, There's metered parking on Boylston. I think your best bet is to try around Mass Ave (before Boylston turns into a one-way).

Thanks Andrea. Because I was running late, I chose to go to Pilgrim parking on Dalton. In October, I hope to get there early enough to explore Mass Ave.

Very cool. Holly had very good info and it was good to talk to meet and talk with fellow job seekers.

An 11th-hour family issue prevented me from attending this event, which was really disappointing, because I was really looking forward to being a part of everything... (Better luck next time, I guess!)

I came from about an hour away. Well worth the drive. Holly was knowledgeable and her presentation covered a lot of ground. I could recommend her presentation to any one in a job search. and useful. And the attendees were intelligent and interested in each other's work. I'm glad I came.
