I hadn't played the drums for about 15 years when I bought a set of Roland V-Drums for the basement and started to play along to the iPod, about a year and half ago. I feel like I'm getting better all the time, but with a long way to go. I've never had any formal lessons and I'm eager for suggestions and tips to improve.
I heard Rush's Limelight in 1981 and tried to play along on the pillows (I still can't play that one). In grad school I played in an Alternative Rock band, all original songs, we thought we were Nirvana. We played out a lot in the bars near Houston Street NYC, we even had a small following (OK, it was about five people. But they seemed to like us.)
Yes, passionate but also very busy.
I feel we have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than it was before we got here.
I feel like I can keep a beat to just about any rock song, and I like to learn new songs assuming my schedule allows. And I'd like to expand my horizons a bit, possibly try singing one of three songs in my range.
Dad of two, I live in Hamilton, I'm the director of marketing for SightLogix in Princeton, and I play drums with Pi Fight.
