Elasticsearch: The Analytics Infrastructure and Language Support

We have two talks scheduled for this meetup:

The Analytics Infrastructure

How Elasticsearch is used to store, search, aggregate and analyze billions of machine generated events. We'll talk about tool building, dashboards and the existing open source tools you can use right now to make sense of the vast array of data your machines are generating every day.

Speaker: Rashid Khan is a data geek and a developer at Elasticsearch. He has a passion for everything open source and is the author of the open source log analysis tool Kibana. He has spent over a decade building infrastructure and writing tools to figure out the meaning of all those blinking lights.

Language Support

How ElasticSearch can be leveraged to support language-specific searches in your application. We'll talk about indexing & schema strategies to support documents authored in any language, as well as efficient querying strategies for performing a language-specific search. We'll also look at how to incorporate custom token filters within ElasticSearch, as well as some open source libraries that provide help with language detection and analysis (e.g. word decompounding)

Speaker: Bryan Warner is a developer at Traackr. He spends most of his time improving Traackr's search capabilities and getting large data sets to behave nicely. He has 10 years experience in Java development and enjoys working with open source software. Lately, he has been diving into Scala to develop Traackr's public API.
