Introduction to Linux, session 1

Register for Introduction to Linux, session 1 on the CU Computational Science and Engineering meetup website at: http://www.meetup.com/University-of-Colorado-Computational-Science-and-Engineering/events/138555492/

Come and learn why Linux is the operating system of choice for everything from running the Internet to high-performance computing to embedded systems. Newcomers to Linux will pick up enough introductory skills to get off and running with the CLI, and even seasoned hackers may learn a new trick or two.

If you would like to follow along with the examples, please bring a laptop that a) runs Linux or Mac OSX, or b) allows you to log in to a Linux server using ssh.

This is the first of three Linux tutorials we plan on having this September.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
