My husband, Andrew and I began doing Wiccan or Nature Worship rituals at UUCE (the Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin) after we moved to Elgin in 2004 and joined the church in 2005. Pagan Unity evolved as a church Covenant Group out of our efforts in 2008 and existed through the end of 2014. The old Pagan Unity Covenant Group no longer exists and the Meetup Group name changed to Elgin Earth Worship in Jan 2015.
In the past, my husband and I have hosted Circles at our home that were primarily invitation only for Moon rituals. These are the occasions for working one's personal magick. Moon rituals are meant to be small, intimate and private.
Wheel of the Year rituals, on the other hand, are meant to be large community celebrations that are family oriented, kid-friendly and open to the public. We invite other Circles, Covens and Moon groups in the Elgin or the Fox Valley area to join us. We intend for our celebrations to be networking opportunities where beginners can come to experience pagan ritual in a safe and open environment.
Solitaries can meet other solitaries. Covens can come to join with other covens and solitaries in the larger pagan community of the Fox Valley. And, beginners can seek out covens and circles who are open to new members. We all have something to learn from each other and to share. Bright blessings, Kassandra
