This is the 6 mile walk I meant to do in Jan, but we had to change due to snow. Fingers crossed this time!
Meet 11AM on the grass by the village sign in Swaffham Prior. This is on the corner of high street/cage hill, CB25 0LD. Car parking is available on the roads in the village, and if you need a lift then maybe we can sort some car sharing, just post a comment on the event!
I'll post my number later, if you are going to be late then give me a call... else we may leave without you!
We'll walk to the village of Reach and have lunch. The plan is a pub lunch in the Dyke's End, which gets busy so please RSVP by midday on Thurs 16th May and I'll try and book a table. If anything goes wrong then plan B would be a picnic! I'll confirm when I've booked the table :-)
We can then continue the walk along the devil's dyke (an ancient defensive earthwork that gives nice raised views of the surrounding countryside), before returning across fields to our starting point.
Bring usual walking things... drinking water, snacks, waterproofs/sunscreen etc! And decent comfortable shoes (trails will probably be fine but ploughed fields and mud is possible). Approx 2.5 hours walking time, plus breaks and pub stop!
Let's hope for better weather this time :-)
