July Meetup: The Ember Router with Alex Matchneer

Ember places a distinctively heavy emphasis on the URL accessibility of Ember apps and provides a powerful Router API that serves as the backbone of Ember applications to achieve that end and manage complexity.

Fresh from a major contribution to the Router API that enhances the Router's ability to handle complex async logic within transitions, Alex Matchneer, an NYC-based Ember consultant and regular contributor, will be presenting on the Ember Router, the problems it solves, what sets it apart from other frameworks' approaches, and how you can start making use of some of the new async features recently added to Ember RC6.

Lightning Talks:

  • Stefan Penner on ember-app-kit
  • Irvin Zhan on Debugging for Dummies
  • Andre Malan on "Your Front End is not your Back End"

If you would like to demo your Ember app, or present a lightning talk at a future meetup, contact me at luke at
