ONE, TWO, THREE....
Getting the most out of an interview, whether you are shooting with multiple cameras, dual or a single camera, this event will help you set up both lights and audio to get the best possible interview with hands on instruction, demonstrations and clips to review from our previous productions.
LIGHT 'EM UP
We'll begin with lighting set-ups and considerations for on location shoots, in studio and run and gun shooting. Once you know where you will be shooting then you need to figure out...
WHO'S ON FIRST
Next up, we need to take into account both single interviewee situations, shooting with an interviewer in both an on-camera position and over the shoulder and what to do when you have multiple people to interview at the same time.
DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?
Knowing where you are shooting and who you are shooting leads us to the question of audio capture, ways to mic your interview subjects and what to do when you have more people than mics available. To boom or not to boom, where is a lavalier mic used best and what to do when the only mic you have is on your camera.

COMPOSE YOURSELF
Understanding the basics of composition will give you a chance to bring out the subject matter in all the right ways, do you need a close-up, medium or cut-away - this event will help you understand the choices you have available to yourself - even if you are the only one with a camera.

THE FINISH LINE
Ok, you have shot an interview and now have to post it - so what do you need to do to "sell the idea" behind your interview? How can you be sure to tell the story and what finishing touches should you be thinking about before you deliver your final piece.
RSVP NOW
This event is being offered as an instructional event, to help further your interview production skills and if you are getting ready to shoot an interview, just want to see some other possibilities or have specific questions on what and how to shoot n interview - this is the Meetup event for you.
We are suggesting a modest $2/$3 donation to help cover operational aspects (coffee, tea, etc.), the doors will open at 2:45pm and this even will last aprox 2.5 hrs.
Hope to see you there...
Will anyone be addressing issues such as any legalities pertaining to the interviewees, e.g., waivers that they need to sign, etc.?
Yes, we can briefly explore logistic, waivers and the like..but the focus of the event is to cover essentials for interviews. We may be offering an advance class in the future to cover all aspects.
No worries Ron, fortunately (unlike last time), we have spots available, but let's catch up next time.
This is essentially the same event for the people that were not able to attend.

Thanks for scheduling this. One of my top goals is to create documentaries on important social topics, so this Meetup should be very helpful.
