I often question the status-quo Evangelical response to issues pertaining to faith, and am seeking forums in which to question and perhaps, find new responses. Some of the many issues that interest me are: issues around race and class and how they relate to our faith and worldview; understanding the demonization of Muslims in our culture (and church), and how to build greater understanding between us; considering adoption and foster care as a response to caring for the orphan; and the importance of the Arts to our faith.

I'm still learning what the "emerging Church" means, but know that it proposes new ways of living out our faith individually as well as communally. I'm curious to learn more.
I would find it helpful to have an evening (or part of an evening) where people shared practical ways that we can integrate these and many other ideas that Brian and other Emergent writers are proposing back into our church communities. Especially churches that are more conservative and not as open to the Emerging church. Have others had experiences with this that they'd be willing to share with the group?
