My name is Zack. I'm recently moved to DC from Louisville, KY/ England for a job. My wife Michelle and I live in NOVA and are looking for a community such as this that shares our interests in historical and social contexts of "emergent church".
I consider my self a recovering "Southern Baptist" as well as a recovering "Pentecostal". Having spent significant time in many different denominations, from the extreme Pentecostal to the Anglo-Catholic, I have developed a real interest in the diversity with which Christianity manifests itself, specifically in particular socio-economic contexts. I often wonder if "orthodoxy" is even relevant anymore, and if it is, how to we arrive at it, maintain it, communicate and steward it... I am interested in social justice, historical Christianity, Biblical hermanutics and criticism, Orthodoxy, etc...
Michelle and I live in Alexandria, so the closer the better I guess.
Thursday is best, Wednesday or Sunday would work too.

Hey Zack,
Hey Alyson, Welcome to TNT! Let us know what types of weekend activities you are interested in and we will try to make something happen. :-) We look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events.

Hi Zack, so sorry you weren't able to get in, especially since you are familiar with/interested
in emergent matters. Busboys staff turns people away for fire code reasons but we try to sneak as many as possible onto the stage. This situation only happens with Brian's return appearance once a year, but I hope you can still visit future community discussions and events (we have two people from Oxford too). Let me know if you are coming, and I'll make sure everything goes smoothly. Best, Glenn
Hi Zack, so glad you could join the conversation! And glad you can come to the McLaren conversation. I think you'll find the kind of community you are looking for in our group. Lots of international people too. In addition to book signing events, we have a spiritual practices group, artist talks, & a monthly dinner discussion group. All this is about discovering & practicing a "new kind of Christianity" as Brian McLaren puts it. Once again, welcome! Best, Glenn
