An Emerging Christianity Conversation in DC Message Board › Justice Coffeehouse is next Sat., here are the food requests, RSVP today
We are very excited about the coming of Seth & Tracy Wispelwey as they share their stories connected with promoting a faith-based view of justice, art, music, and community organizing (click here for full description of event and to RSVP) NEXT SATURDAY (not tomorrow), Sept 21st at 7PM on Dupont Circle. We need help with food (see below) to make this work.
The Justice Coffeehouse will cap (and conclude) an exciting summer of starting a homeless outreach group, going to the 50th Anniversary March on Washington, and holding numerous discussions on the legacy of the biblical prophets for us today. It's been a great summer, and one we will celebrate on Sat., Sept 21st. Join us!
Tracy will be performing new music around the theme of justice & faith. Tracy does work with Bread for the World, while Seth works with International Justice Mission. They have a ton of experience with faith-based humanitarian organizations and international non-profits. So if you are interested in learning more about those kinds of organizations, that's an added plus.
We typically like to start our coffeehouses with dinner. I'll provide the salad and shredded chicken if others can provide the following:
bottle of wine;
other toppings for salads (shredded bacon, shredded salmon, etc);
small side dishes of meat or vegetables;
bottle of seltzer, and
bottles of interesting juices.
If you can't contribute food, donations of $6 to cover the costs of the salad and paper products is very much appreciated.
Please put in what kind of food you can contribute in your RSVP line. Thanks!
