A photographer's dream, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque features an imposing facade, lavish interiors, and detailed work all over. In a country packed with iconic structures, this may be the single most photogenic building there is, and it's also one of the few mosques in the UAE open to non-Muslim visitors.
Please remember that this is a place of worship, and you may have to put on additional clothing if you are not dressed conservatively. This is available for free at the mosque.
We will arrive in the evening to see the mosque in daylight, at sunset, and lit up at night. Bring along your tripods if you plan to stay after dark. If you like your images, you may also want to take part in a competition.
Members in Abu Dhabi are strongly encouraged to attend. We hope to organize more events for you in the future, and would love to talk to you about your ideas.
Members in Dubai who can offer transport or need a ride should comment below to mention this.
