Bi-Weekly Photography Meetup. Theme: Flash

Venue information:

Our new biweekly venue is The Change Initiative building in Al Barsha. Coming by metro? This video will show you how to head over to the venue from the Sharaf DG station. Traveling from the direction of Internet City? Watch this video. (You can skip ahead 1:20 if you are coming down Sheikh Zayed Road from the direction of Jebel Ali/Abu Dhabi.) Heading down SZR from Dubai? Watch this video if you don't mind paying for Salik, and this one if you want to avoid the toll.
We strongly suggest you scout out the location beforehand if you are unsure about finding it. If you need help, call the EPyC hotline ([masked]), but please note that the event starts at 7 PM sharp, and we may not be able to answer calls after that time.

Cost:

Is this your first time at one of our biweekly events? Welcome - it's free of charge! For everyone else, we suggest donating a minimum of AED 20 to cover club costs.

Agenda:

18:30 Registration

19:00 Announcements and introduction

19:05 Member showcase (Jahan Ameer)
For this section, members show us 10 to 12 of their best shots, and answer questions about them. Want to try your hand at this in the future? Talk to an organizer.

19:20 Break

19:25 Discussion Topic: Flash (Brian Donegan)
In his presentation, Brian will tell you how to use your flash properly so that you figure out how to do more with your speedlight than press the 'on' button. He will go over controlling exposure, gear on a budget, making on-camera flash work for you, using an off-camera flash, light modifiers, umbrellas, and setting up your session. Have a speedlight? Bring it along. We may also take pictures of you!

20:25 Break

20:30 The Tuesday tip
Ashraf Jandali dispenses advice on how to improve your photographs.

20:45 Photo Competition (Theme: Cityscapes and architecture)
Please send us up to two of your images by email ([masked]) before 7 PM the night before the event. To make our lives easier, please rename the files so that they have your name in them, e.g. Ahmed1.JPG and Ahmed2.JPG. We all vote on who has done the best job, and the winner gets a prize. We will not accept photo submissions on the day. If you don't show up, your photo will also not be eligible for a prize.

I know 10/26 letters of ABC and i was reading sentences there. I did my best to understand. Exposures and multiple exposures on single frame were totally OHT.

Dear Jahan, I meant no offense- U were great. It was my second meetup, i didn't expect to understand anything. Brian was also super with his topic and presentation with the topping of humour. I did not understand much but also wasn't bored at all. Thanks. When i recvd a mail from EPyC i was meant to rate it and then comment, I did not know they would be seen by everyone.

Would you ask your friend, to meet you at a certain time and place, but just not turn up without informing?
Think about this... and please change your RSVP if you cannot make it...
This comment is for all those who said they are coming in the RSVP and did not turn up...
Please change your status the moment you know you cannot make it... it only takes a click of a button... :)
