Interesting and impressive. Was very useful to me as an amateur. Would like to continue the fire works in the coming weeks on Thursday & Friday to familarise with this technique.

I didn’t enjoy much on the Fireworks Show because it’s too short and I don’t even had a chance to change the settings of my camera. I also use the lowest ISO and large Depth of Field to emphasized the subject but still am not happy with the photos : (

It would be better if we could have shared some knowledge before starting the shooting.

Hey peeps, I remembered that I'm going away on Wednesday so I won't be able to come to next weeks fireworks :(
@Pengyan: I used one setting for all my pictures:
Manual mode, lowest ISO on my camera, f/22, 15 second shutter speed. Since the fireworks were rather short I didn't get a chance to experiment with other settings.
@Meenal: What equipment were you lacking? just curious :P

    July 28, 2012

  • Marian

Hi guys, could you pls also put your settings for the lovely photos? It's a great way to compare and learn. Thnx:)

    July 28, 2012

  • Ahmad Al H.

you can come to the other two meet ups the " Al Majaz Water front Fire works show" next Thursday or to the Same Al Qasba show next Friday or even both :)

Ghazi - I live under 2 km away from Al Qasba, our flat is the opposite side of the lagoon from the ferris wheel, so I might go along earlier too, say about 9:00 pm (or earlier, if there is any interest). [masked]

    July 27, 2012

  • David B.

My client - an advertising agency - never got the permit for me to take photographs at their event, so they now want me to take photos with a point-and-shoot camera, so that I don't look like a professional photographer, but they still want the same quality as a DSLR with off-camera flashguns and softboxes !!! I tried to explain if that was possible, I would never have invested over Dhs. 100,000 in equipment, I would have bought a p-a-s camera for Dhs. 1000 instead, but they don't understand !!

    July 27, 2012

  • David B.

Sohail - sorry for the misunderstanding .... I posted a few days ago that I might have a photo shoot for a client on Friday evening, so I couldn't come to the fireworks .... but that shoot was cancelled yesterday, so I reposted that to confirm that I would make it to the fireworks instead !!

    July 27, 2012

  • Ghazi

I was there last night to scout locations and here is a shot I took at around midnight, thoughts / comments would be appreciated.

In terms of processing, reduced the highlights and lightened up some of the shadows.

I would be there earlier than the planned 9:30 for experimenting with long exposures / time lapses - if anyone gets there early, feel free to call me at[masked]

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
