What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a modern and growing form of self development and therapy that uses a gentle tapping technique to stimulate acupuncture points. The discovery behind the method is that 'the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.' Tapping on the acupuncture points while focusing on the issue clears the blockages allowing energy to flow freely again, relieving you of the emotional issue. How can it help me?

It is a simple yet powerful technique that is easy to learn and can be applied to both physical and emotional issues. EFT is effective for the reduction and management of emotions such as stress, anxiety and fear. It can be used to overcome relationship and self-esteem issues, phobias, past trauma and destructive behavioural patterns. It can also be effective for physical issues such as pain, weight loss, insomnia and smoking cessation.

Who is this group for?

Beginners, experienced tappers and practitioners welcome. Whether you are a beginner or have experience you will reap the benefits of this unique and powerful technique in just one session.

What are the benefits of tapping in a group?

Not only do you gain from the support of the other group members but you will actually benefit from working on their issues too. In EFT we call it 'borrowed benefits'.

What happens at an EFT circle?

Sessions last from 1 hour to 1 and half hours, depending on venue. Each session starts with a brief introduction to EFT and the tapping points. Then each member gives brief details about the issue or emotion they wish to work on that day and rates it’s intensity from 0-10. (Note that it is not necessary to share personal details unless you wish to.) Then we get tapping! Very simply you tap the acupuncture points while repeating phrases to keep you focused on the issues. Everyone taps on themselves and everyone taps together. We stop frequently in between rounds of tapping to reassess the intensity so there is plenty of time for questions and chat.

Who is the organizer?

I am a qualified EFT and Touch for Health practitioner who has led EFT circles in Hong Kong, Sydney and London. I aim to provide a warm, safe and informal environment in which to learn or practice EFT and enjoy the dynamic of sharing with like-minded people. Like my Facebook page to be kept up to date with events, share ideas and tips on tapping.
