Conversemos en Starbucks at 6301 W Parmer Ln

[In this group Spanish speakers and English speakers help one another learn each other’s language through conversation. We spend half of each Meetup conversing in Spanish and half conversing in English.]

Cuando compres la bebida y/o merienda, no te olvides de decirle al barista que eres parte del “Spanish Meetup” para que tu compra nos ayude a llegar al mínimo para usar el cuarto. [When you purchase your beverage and/or snack, please remember to let the barista know that you’re with the “Spanish Meetup” so that it will count toward the room minimum.]

COSTO / COST: Una contribución opcional de $1 de cada persona ayuda a pagar los gastos del sitio Meetup y un café para la organizadora. Gracias. [An optional contribution of $1 per person helps pay for the online Meetup fees and a coffee for the organizer. Thank you.]

¡Nos vemos pronto!

Stephanie and I are looking at having our meeting on the patio of Starbucks at 6301 Parmer Ln--only on August 25. Thank you Ronan for your suggestion. I called them and it costs $50/hr to reserve a private room on weekends. And I was told that they are busy on Sundays. I'll post the Starbucks location tomorrow night unless anyone else has a good suggestion. We'll be back at Genuine Joes after this Sunday.

I can't make this one and the following week I start a Spanish II class that meets, oddly, on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. So, I'll be trying to make the Wednesday meetups.

    Where are you?

There was no meet up today. I am sorry you made it out to Genuine Joe's.

Yes i'm sorry about your trouble too, Francisco. We had no organizer and no location so it was canceled. Stephanie is looking into a location for next Sunday. Then we'll be back to normal after that at Genuine Joes. Pam

A smaller venue is usually more convenient because you can hear one another better. A lot of people have complained about that at OPA's. Is it very noisy at the Monkey Nest?

Oh yes, it's roughly Burnet and North Loop (near 2222). I would even suggest that it's even better than Genuine Joe's! For many reasons, including the very well-priced food and larger selection of drinks.

Hey, we should look into Monkey Nest as a potential meet up place for Sunday. Its huge, has pretty good parking and I've used it many times before for another language/conversation meet up I've been a part of. We didn't arrange for the private room because it wasn't necessary, but they do have one if it seems needed.
