I promised my classmates that I would post the following tongue twister on this page for everyone to practice rolling the Spanish "rr":

    Erre con erre cigarro,
    Erre con erre barril,
    Rapido ruedan los carros
    Cargados de azucar al ferrocarril.

There was a time when I knew how to put accents on words, but it escapes me at the moment. Just know that the "a" in rapido has an accent as does the "u" in azucar. Also, there are slightly different versions of this saying, but this is the one I learned when I lived in Caracas.

Thanks, Donna, and btw, I just realized "embarazada" does not practice your Spanish rr's! :-D And thanks too, Wayne; I remember Neolla distributed a printed handout of the complete Spanish diacritical marks that she posted on our website back in December 2011 (in Microsoft Excel format). I've just uploaded a new one in Microsoft Word format; on our group home page, click on the tab "More", then click on "Files." You'll then see the file that Neolla uploaded ("Spanish.Keyboard.Combinations") and the one that I just uploaded ("Diacritical marks - SPANISH").

Good time as usual and thanks Wayne for the lesson. Enjoyed going to lunch and a little latin dancing in the evening.

Very good. Donna keeps us on our toes, and I always learn new words and expressions, and discover things that I "knew" that were incorrect. It's also great fun to see everyone there, we are a very friendly group.

Always enjoy the camaraderie as much (if not more) as the learning.
