Welcome to November!
And welcome to the beginnings of a great winter. You'll find the hottest events to warm up your winter on and here is what you must not miss in November.

A Night with Fashion
Fashion Week design duo Manik?, and famed Swiss design pair Beige, team up with The Metropolitan Mixer for an exclusive presentation of their 2010 winter collections at the Blumenhalle in Z?rich. On 18 November 2010 guests, age 24 and older, are invited to participate in the fashion presentation. In addition to the fashion show, invitees will enjoy free beauty consultations by Toni & Guy, free head & neck massages by U?nique Personal Grooming, free fitness tips from Holmes Place Health Club and designer label shopping. Guests may come by invitation only and as a Metropolitan Mixer reader, you are cordially invited to join us on our glamorous night with fashion.

Lady Gaga
The queen of crazy is coming to town to put on a thrilling performance of her hit songs like ?Poker Face?, ?Bad Romance? and ?Telephone?. Opening the show is the New York-based high-energy band Semi Precious Weapons. The two acts are sure to have your heart pumping and body moving uncontrollably. If you haven?t already thought about going, perhaps it?s time to start thinking Gaga.

Thanksgiving is always a special holiday and it?s all because of the 3 F?s:Family, friends and food. The Alden Hotel, Zurich's smallest 5-star boutique hotel, will help host this holiday during which we'll enjoy a wonderful meal, great conversation, all at an elegant location. Join us at the Alden Hotel on 25 November at 19:30 for our Thanksgiving Feast. All nationalities are welcome.

Ski Season
According to reports, the slopes could be ready for re-opening as soon as this week and hopefully you?re in shape for the challenge and have all the gear too. If you?re not into skiing or snowboarding, you can always try high-speed sledding and vista gazing at an Alpine retreat. No matter what your choice, make sure to get to the mountains this winter, because that's where you'll find the sun shining bright.

Nothing says winter like a piping hot pot of authentic Swiss fondue. Have your first fondue this season at a Zurich restaurant or with friends at home. Fondue is one of Switzerland?s greatest treats and you can find a delectable cheesy meal at Walliser Keller; however, if you want to spice up the traditional Swiss chuchi then try a fondue recipe for your home gathering.

Share your plans for November in the comment section and have a Happy November!
