MEETUP LOCATION Thank you to those who have already RSVPed regarding the MeetUp scheduled for the 9th March. I have now selected a location: Carpe Diem Caf?, 21 rue des Halles, Chatelet. If you take the "rue de la Ferronnerie" exit (number 10) at Chatelet-Les Halles metro or RER, it's just ahead of you, across the road - you'll see its Guinness sign which is a legacy of its previous incarnation as the Oscar Wilde. If velib station 1004 were any closer you'd be stepping over bikes to get to the loo.
As always, there's no real "start time", but as Happy Hour (?3.90 a pint) only runs until 8pm it's a case of the earlier the better. I shall be there from before 7pm. It's also a restaurant, but "the best pizza in Paris" trattoria is just around the corner, which may interest those us who went there after a MeetUp last summer.
JOB OFFERS ETC I have also added a few threads onto the MeetUp page message board which I urge you to look at. One is about interesting talks scheduled for the near future (on the future of ESL teaching, and on going independent) and the other is an urgent job offer in the Paris area. In general I think this message board could be a useful mechanism for broadcasting employment opportunities, tips & ideas etc etc, so do try to check it every now and then, and contribute to it too.
Looking forward to a great turn out on the 9th of March, Sean [masked]
This group is aimed at those teaching English as a foreign language to French people in and around Paris. We hope that you will swap ideas and lesson plans, pick up tips and exchange stories and job information. It's also for those of you who are just considering becoming an English Teacher, and therapy and prayer haven't helped. In any case, you are very welcome. We usually meet in a bar / café where the drinks are very reasonably priced so you get a good run for your hard-earned centimes. Cheers, Sean 06 10 20 88 09
