Great discussion of mobility trends and security considerations. Impressed with underlying complexity of the whole mobile scene for enterprises. Most Impressive conclusion: Mobility allows the enterprise to rethink value, productivity and workflows. Its more than just individual productivity enhancer.

Awesome meetup last night. I want to thank Henry Sienkiewicz (@hjsienkiewicz), Paul R. Ruppert – (@mobilepointview) and Dan Nester for leading the discussions – “Big Congrats to Dan and Alan on the acquisition of Boxtone by GOOD inc”. I also setup a survey for everyone at to get your input on future meetups.

Here's another item to digest from Baseline Magazine ( "Any organization that isn't taking mobility seriously risks getting left behind." This comes from a UNISYS survey ( and its report "From Mobile Void to Mobile Enterprise."

Most surprising survey result: 79% of mobile enterprises are able to measure mobility's ROI.

Look forward to discussing at Thursday's meetup.

Looking forward to Thursday's Meetup. Chris Hazelton in CIO Insight interview ( says "the two biggest trends driving the way that IT handles mobility are the limited ability to control the devices that employees are using, and the increasing amount of corporate data that is going across these devices. This dynamic means IT must control a growing use of corporate data in an environment in which it is steadily losing control." More data + less control seems like a bad risk environment. Let's discuss Thursday at the meetup.

Highly unlikely that enterprises can secure and share information on mobile platforms without some remote management capability (eg MDM or MDM like capability.

Can an federal agency provide secure access to enterprise files and content without using an MDM solution?
