Take Action to Protest Sears' Destruction of Forests for Catalogs!
Sears is best known for being the original
catalog producer?but what they're currently
producing is a lot of forest destruction. Sears
sends out an estimated 425 million catalogs a
year, including 270 million Lands? End
catalogs?using enough catalog paper to completely
wrap the Sears Tower 6 times a day, every day.
These catalogs are printed on paper with almost
no post-consumer recycled content, and the
company refuses to make real commitments to
protect Endangered Forests like Canada?s Boreal
Forest that are cut down to supply that
paper. Stop Sears from destroying critical wildlife habitat!

ACTION #1 Reindeer on Strike Against Sears Destruction of Forests
NATIONAL DAY OF PROTEST AGAINST SEARS!!!
When: Tuesday, December 4th @ 8:30 am (finishing around 10 am)
Where: Meet at Cosi at 60 e. 56th st. between
madison and park ave. (Near the SE corner of central park)
*We will be caroling in two locations at the
offices of two different board members. The
first location is the large office building
directly behind the Apple store at 59th and 5th
ave, the second location is at 59th and Park ave.
The address is 740 Park ave. but the entrance to
the building is actually on 59th st. Join
reindeer-activists around the country in singing
"carols" to Sears letting them know that they are
crushing our Christmas spirit by clearcutting our
homes! Because we are in NYC we have the great
honor of singing to Sears' board members at their
offices! Forest Ethics has provided a book of
re-written carols for us, we will bring copies
for everyone. We will also be handing out fliers.
What to bring/wear: We will be dressing up as
reindeers with antlers, which we will have for
everyone when we meet up. Beyond that, please
wear either brown or festive Christmas colors
(red and green). Maybe you even have your
grandmother's handknit Christmas sweater with
snowmen on it lying around--wear it! Bring small
instruments (harmonicas, kazoos, bells,
tambourines), cameras, and video cameras.
Please RSVP so we know to bring you antlers and
lyrics! Contact Lauren Valle with concerns and ideas. T
