IMPORTANT UPDATE INFO FOR TREASURE HUNT!
We have 4 teams which is fantastic. Here are instructions:
Meet at Pyrford Lock (near Wisley)GU23 6QW at 10:30am on Sunday 20th October. There are 2 car parks by the Anchor Pub http://anchorpyrford.co.uk/. We will meet at the Lock itself promptly at 10:30am.You will be provided with full instructions.
Each team will need:
car + driver + others to read/write
Sat nav or phone or map.
Something to lean on
Brollies/raincoat in case of rain
drink/snacks in case you get thirsty/hungry en route!
Its a competition - there's a prize at the end for the winning team! It should take about 3 hours, but you are NOT encouraged to rush. Please drive safely! We will meet back at Pyford Lock. If people are happy to have lunch at the Anchor afterwards which does do nice food ( if i get a table)
Please email ASAP to confirm team name, names of teammates and whether you all fancy lunch together afterwards. [masked]
I have recently purchased a Surrey treasurehunt by a professional treasure hunt company.
It will involve getting into teams and looking for clues and learning about history and features of places not too far from Guildford/Woking areas of Surrey. (I dont want to give too much away!)
Who: All welcome. This is a treasure hunt involving Rotaractors getting into teams (up to 4). Depending on who is interested in participating, we can either choose teams (suggest 2-4 per team) or put people into teams. It would be good to share local knowledge amongst the teams so hardcore Surreyites are spread evenly! The more mixed the teams the better.
What: teams will be driving around an area of Surrey villages looking for clues. It is not timed so it does NOT encourage speeding or risky driving! Safe driving only! The Hunt will take about 3 hours not including any stops for refreshments - although I suggest a pub lunch at the end!
There are quiz questions, a cryptic pub round, a picture round and a bonus round.
Costs - free as I bought the pack, apart from any refreshments you purchase en route, but you will need to split petrol costs between you so its fair on the driver.
As I have the pack and have seen the questions I better be the Organiser! Although I have not shared this with Andy so I think he is quite keen to participate if a team will have him?
We could open this up to Cambereley or Woking if the club likes?
If this date doesnt work with sufficient numbers...I will change it
Also if weather is appalling, we will need to postpone and could just have pub lunch instead?!
