What We do?
Some examples of activities enjoyed by the club are:-
Badminton, Pub Lunches, BBQs, Concerts, Black Tie Balls, Cinema Nights, Conferences, Weekends Away, Bowling, Day Trips, Table Tennis, Meals Out, Parties, Guildford Flames, Camping Trips, Games Nights, Conservation Work, Drinks Evenings, Pub Quizzes, Sponsored Walks.
Each year we select a charity to support for the Rotary Year (July 1st to June 30th).
We also help out with events in the local community with activities like marshalling . Over the last two years alone, we have raised around £7800 for local charities Surrey Air Ambulance and Epsom Medical Equipment Fund.
Epsom Rotaract has a wide and varied social calender with events being organised by our members for our members. Through this way of organising events, every member gets the chance to take part in events they enjoy and also to try new activities.
How much does joining Rotaract Cost?
You are welcome to attend Rotaract as a visitor free of charge, so that if you decide Rotaract is not for you then there's nothing lost. On becoming a member a small annual fee is due (currently £30 a year).
How do I become a member?
Potential members of the club have to attend 3 meetings and 3 socials to become eligible for membership.
What are the benefits?
The opportunity to contribute to the continued success of a community staple that began existence in 1975 and has helped many charities and community causes over the years.
As a member you are eligible for international trips to visit other clubs abroad. For example, Club members recently attended a Rotaract Conference in Romania and enjoyed the local hospitality and the local sites as well. There are Rotaract clubs all over the world just like this one, so you can meet a wide range of interesting people.
We award all club members with a club certificate and members can also obtain a club T Shirt free of charge.
You can develop leadership skills as part of our club council and/or my taking part in our events which can develop members confidence and enhance their CV. Some of club members have busy working lives so we run the club flexibly and responsibly as a result and respect their work/life balance.
Because we all work together to help organise the club in various ways as well as helping the community, we are a close knit group and you would often see the same people at most of our events.
The biggest benefit is the satisfaction of doing good for the community in a friendly environment with good people.
Come along and chat with our members. We cannot wait to meet you and are very happy to answer any questions.
Please note: Some of our activities are held in member's homes, so we would like to meet you before you RSVP for events.
