Erlang optimization using Ports, NIFs, and RE2

Erlang provides many ways for interacting with external programs or libraries.
When presented with a small problem and looking for optimizations I explored
the use of ports and NIFs to improve the speed. In this talk Anthony Molinaro from OpenX will go over the problem, the benchmarking code and the various solutions.
