Erlang is a general-purpose concurrent, garbage-collected programming language. Some of its features include eager evaluation, single assignment, dynamic typing, and hot swapping, so that code can be changed without stopping a system. It was originally designed by Ericsson to support distributed, fault-tolerant, soft-real-time, non-stop applications, with now a wide innovative usage within industries such as telecom, banking & finance, online gambling & betting, and gaming.
The Erlang User Group is a group of Erlang Enthusiasts who are interested in sharing their knowledge and meeting people who share similar interests. The group is open to Erlang Architects, Programmers, Project Managers, Software and Platform Innovators, and existing Erlang users as well as Erlang newbies and anyone interested in Erlang.
We arrange and promote regular events involving Erlang including free seminars and workshops, followed by the customary Erlounge.
