Please join us to learn about updates to the Tax Parcel Editing download scheduled for June 26th. The updates include attribute assistant, which can be used to name parcels based on certain attribute rules, including geographic pins, PLSS based pins, and book and page. We will be configuring these rules and demonstrating them in operation. We will also demonstrate a new tool to load simple polygons to the Parcel Fabric.

Follow-up on the question about the latest version of the Attribute Assistant Add-in working on ArcGIS Desktop 10.1. I checked on this, and found that the download version of the add-in will not install on 10.1, since the new changes were compiled on the 10.2 SDK platform.

For those who'd requested it, the data used in the demo for this meetup 6/19/2014 is posted on Arcgis Online and the map package can be downloaded from here:

I am working on a 3D method that use the z-coordinate to do the Least Squares Adjustment method that will get the PLSS pins on the ground to be accurate within one foot accuracy. See you all on the dark side of the moon.

You must have good input data to be getting +-1 foot accuracy for PLSS . A lot of the PLSS data contains measurements in chains with poor accuracy in todays terms. Where high accuracy is needed, it might be more cost effective to use a GPS and recapture monumentation. Adjustment will be always as good as the source data, and conflicts may have to be settled by sending a field crew. Many times we find counties to reject the BLM's PLSS version and create their own because they have resurveyed all the PLSS corners and know where they are to a cm level. If we can come up with a good mechanism to contribute and share control points, all parties could benefit.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
