Michael Lomax from Esri Canada will be presenting on 3D Value Analysis at GIS/CAMA in Albuquerque, NM. The meeting is from 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM MST.
Assessment property valuations are largely calculated by using formulas, lookup tables, and intuition. These models can lead to discrepancies between the assessed value and the actual sale price that a property sells for. In addition, the models can become even more out of line for strata units as there is less opportunity to visit every single unit. GIS tools enable comparison of assessment values to actual sales prices by visualizing results, particularly in three dimensions (3D). 3D visualization is important as the strata units are all on top of each other; therefore a traditional 2D map will not suffice. Explore the capabilities of 3D within Geographic Information Systems to:
- Accurately build 3D condominium parcels
- Display the output
- Review Data, Valuation parameters
- Value en mass using 3D
