This was my first event and despite the rain - it was a fantastic walk ! Well wait - I kept on saying on the hike to the weather gods - please just please be a little colder for snow - I guess I got my wish - by the time we were seated at the Black Cow ( yum ) it was snowing. Thank you Ashley and to all the drivers !!!

Hello All - Today's hike was my first ECTA event and it was great. The distant views of the marsh and pine trees in the rain were serene. Ashley you did an excellent job of running the event. The hot chocolate stop was a nice touch. And when the sun broke through it was so warm and toasty; too bad that all the cancellations missed out. Cheers. Tom

    January 18, 2014

    • Stephen

Went there-maybe 7 cars-just getting over flu so cold rain not a good idea-we talked to organizer and then left-started pouring 15 minutes later so not sure-

    Is this hike still on?

    January 18, 2014

  • Maureen P

Even though I would love to join you on this walk, I'm concerned that if the trails are through wetlands or in constant shelter with no sun light, that the trails will be icy and require the use of spikes. Please let me know if that is the case so I can cancel.

    January 17, 2014

    • Ashley H.

There may be ice on some parts of the trail. Good waterproof hiking shoes with grippy soles are recommended. Hiking poles might also be a good idea. I don't think spikes will be necessary.

I'm so disappointed but I have just injured my wrist and I'm not sure how 4.5 miles would work out for me just now. Would there be any objection to meeting you all at the Cow if I am out and about on Saturday?

    January 16, 2014

  • Alison

Anybody know the number of miles involved?

    January 15, 2014

    • Ashley H.

Alison it is about 4.5 miles.

Are there places nearby to rent skis or snowshoes? If not, can you suggest a place that rents?

Not for lunch-not sure if this is only happening if snow or it would just be a hike otherwise.

I would love to hike or snow shoe it but not ski.

I don't have XC skis either, but I do have two sets of snowshoes. How would we get back to our cars after lunch?

    December 30, 2013

    • Ashley H.

Stephie, We will arrange for carpooling the day before the event to make sure that we have several cars at the end to give people rides back to the start.

I'll be able to hike. The skiing depends on if my boots still fit me. I would like to stay for lunch.

    December 14, 2013

  • Linda

I'm in for a hike - i don't ski - but i do snowshoe if there is a snowshoe contingent interested.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
