This Meetup was created for African American women who enjoy literature and cinema. What makes this Book Club different from many others is that we will not only read books, but we will watch the movie during our monthly meetups and discuss and compare the book and the film. We will not read African American books only, but the group was designed for African American women as a means to grow and support a sisterhood amongst members. We will read a few "throwbacks" as well as more current books. Eventually, I would love it if different members would host the monthly meetups.
