Sunday Meeting - The Black Institute: An Interview with Bertha Lewis

Dr. Anne Klaeysen, Leader

Chris Bernhardt Presides

Anne will interview Bertha Lewis, founder of The Black Institute and former CEO of the Association for Community Organizations for Reform (ACORN), about her social justice work.

The mission of The Black Institute is to shape intellectual discourse and dialogue and impact public policy from a Black perspective, translating the “think” in think-tank into “action” through a head, heart and feet strategy. I met Lewis through her involvement with Occupy Faith and joined the clergy Economic Fairness initiative at The Black Institute where she has participated in public actions to support low-wage workers.

Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead  [masked] x 107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
