Harold Pinter turns this stock sitcom situation into a searing, brutally funny drama. His characters flay one another verbally in a vicious game of one-upmanship that the audience may find uncomfortably familiar. As New York Times critic Ben Brantley said in reviewing the 2007 production, “We may not have thought we saw ourselves in The Homecoming four decades ago. Now it feels like a mirror.” Richard Van Deusen directs, which includes Geneva Carr, Brian J. Carter and James Lindsay, with Dan Hanson reading stage directions.
