"Still Around? Better be Strong" - Rob Hoffman, a geriatric care manager for the past 16 years
He will tell how to get stronger and stay stronger for a longer life ahead. Learn about activities like weight lifting, using your own body weight; Tai Chi and Chi Gong for better balance, physically and mentally; Yoga and stretches for limbering up; breathing, using your diaphragm, for easier walking up stairs – and all of this in a fun and stimulating way!
Since 2000, Rob has designed and taught exercise programs for the elderly, including balance improvement and fall prevention, both one-on-one and in groups. He works as an exercise specialist for the elderly, a personal trainer, and a Tai Chi/Chi Gong instructor in New York. He finds Tai Chi and Chi Gong, combined with regular exercises and breathing, very useful for improving overall well being, strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance. Rob earned a Masters degree in psychology at the State University in Groningen, the Netherlands, and is certified by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers and the American College of Sports Medicine. His motto is “fun and functional.”
