First Sunday Discussion Group-LOCATION CHANGE Comparative Religions

  • January 5, 2014 · 4:00 PM
  • Paula & Ben's Home

Changing venues so that BJ and Lawrence can recover from the bug that caught them over the holidays. Same meeting but at Saratoga home of Ben and Paula.

Continuing our exploration of values as expressed in religions of the world, we’ll use the curriculum from the American Ethical Union to contrast and compare several religions, including Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism, Hinduism and others. Find the curriculum at http://aeu.org/library/articles/Tapestries.pdf but there is no need to study before the meeting.

Snacks served at 3:45. Meeting starts at 4 PM at Bryans’ home in San Jose.

Finding common values among various religions and Ethical Culture was helpful and enlightening. Wes led the discussion in a way that included everyone and kept us in an exploratory mode. I enjoyed the evening a lot!

Wes did a great job leading an interesting discussion of various world religions and Paula served up a really delicious vegan "clam chowder."

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
