Session 2 of our exploration of values as expressed in religions of the world, we’ll use the curriculum from the American Ethical Union to contrast and compare several religions, including Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism, Hinduism and others.  Find the curriculum at http://aeu.org/library/articles/Tapestries.pdf but there is no need to study before the meeting.

This series of discussions about Ethical Culture is held at a lovely home in downtown San Jose. Address provided upon RSVP.

Refreshments served at 3:45 so arrive early.

Wes led 8 of us through Confucianism and Taoism, with 3 basic questions which led us back to similarities with Ethical Culture (EC) and a look at the positive aspects of the religions. We had a sheet with EC values and seven pages of info on the big seven world religions from the AEU Tapestries curriculum. Wes led the discussion with purpose, ease and skill so that we came away with more understanding and knowledge of the religions and each other, and with more insight into how we might become better people. A very satisfying meeting.
